2025 donations are dedicated to ROMP

ROMP (Range of Motion Project) is an organization providing prosthetics care to underserved communities in Central and South America.

As a 2025 ROMP Ambassador, my goal is to raise $10,000 toward their mission.

To highlight the importance of access to proper prosthetics for amputees, I am raising awareness for ROMP by challenging myself to become the first amputee to finish the Tour Divide. Tour Divide is a 2700+ mile bikepacking race that begins in Banff, Alberta, Canada and ends in Antelope Wells, New Mexico at the United States/Mexico border.

Why?

Often considered the hardest endurance mountain bike race, Tour Divide holds a lot of special meaning for me personally. When I lost my left leg below the knee due to a hit and run collision—I was hit from behind by an ATV while mountain biking—I was crushed, emotionally. I was convinced I would never ride my bike again. Thankfully, I was quickly introduced to adaptive athletes through social media and before I was even out of the hospital I’d spent hours researching prosthetics and learning how I might still have a future as a cyclist. I stumbled upon a YouTube video of Lael Wilcox absolutely crushing the Tour Divide and the seed was planted—I decided that was going to be my recovery goal!

Now, over two years since I lost my foot, I’m recovering from a third surgery that has finally made my dream possible. My pain level is manageable, my residual limb is in great shape, and the time has come to attempt the Tour Divide.
